Gregory T. Scott, Legal Director
The Legal Department is comprised of a Director - Magistrate, an Administrative Secretary, a Judicial Support Manager, Civil and Delinquency/Unruly Magistrates, Case Management Specialists, Judicial Support Technicians and an Attorney/GAL Billing Specialist.
The Legal Department is responsible for the judicial processing of cases (delinquency, unruly, dependency, abuse, neglect, traffic, custody, parentage, child support, etc.) from the referral to the court through its final disposition and/or resolution of the matter.
During 2011, in addition to facilitating the Supreme Court of Ohio Judicial College Video Teleconferences as the Montgomery County site, department members served as instructors for the Judicial College, the Dayton Bar Association and the Better Business Bureau, and with other Court members made presentations on various topics throughout the legal and public communities. To enhance our existing collaborative efforts, attorney representatives from the Clerk of Court Office and the CASA program were added to the participants in a monthly meeting of the department, the APA, the CSEA, the PD and CSD. A revision of past practices involving the attorney and guardian ad litem appointment process resulted in a significant monetary savings over past years.
