What is the Citizen Review Board?

Citizen Review Board members are volunteers who serve on a review board in the county where they reside. They are responsible for reviewing the cases of children and/or youth who are in out-of-home placement, to ensure that the case plan is directed to securing permanency for each child who is in the custody of the Montgomery County Jobs and Family Services, Children Services Division (CSD), and that appropriate services and treatment are offered.

Purpose of the Position:

Through the assessment of what is working and what is not, Citizen Reviewers HELP THE SYSTEM WORK for our children. The Review Board is one of the few institutions where the PROBLEMS OF THE FAMILY, THE EFFORTS OF THE STATE, AND THE WORK OF THE JUDICIARY MEET.
