Magistrate Kimmel

Magistrate Matthew Kimmel received a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in 2014, and a law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law in 2017.

He began as a law clerk for the late Judge Nick Kuntz during his final year of law school, and transitioned into a full time staff attorney after being admitted to the bar in November 2017.

While serving as staff attorney for both Judge Kuntz and Judge Helen Wallace, he gained extensive experience working on all of the different types of cases Juvenile Court encounters. Kimmel was appointed and sworn in as magistrate on Aug. 28, 2023.
